Royal Essex airbrush artist Ryan Smyth's conceptual and artistic inspiration comes from a well-rounded, multi-cultural and highly active childhood experience.

As far back as his family and friends can remember, Ryan has always taken part and had a passion for the sport of ice hockey, the arts, and just about anything with an engine and wheels. Airbrushing is an art, that for him, has successfully integrated all of these passions into one.

Growing up in the tri-state area, he has been and continues to be influenced by the ever-changing landscape of sights, sounds, tastes and colors. In an industry where quality and personal expression mean absolutely everything, Ryan's diverse palette of concepts, designs, colors, and creations provide a never ending canvas of possibilities for his clients.

Ryan's motivation behind starting Royal Essex Custom Airbrushing is to provide goalies in the Tri-State area with a reputable, honest, and professional goalie mask painter that they can call their own. Goalie mask painting has become a standard tradition and even in some cases a very superstitious element within any goal tender's career, and Ryan believes that this art, traditionally, should be provided not only by a local mask painter, but a former goal tender as well.
